Health Care Agency Website   l   Saliva Test FAQ

The County of Orange is offering at-home saliva-based COVID-19 test kits. This test will determine if an individual is currently infected and can spread to others.

Patients are notified via email when their results are ready and are prompted to access them via the CARE portal. If the patient tests positive, a health provider will call the patient. The test is provided for free.

Individuals that live in Orange County can register online by clicking on the "order test kit" button.

  • If you choose to have a test kit shipped to you, the kit will be shipped via FedEx within 1-2 business days. The kit includes instructions, return label and package to send completed specimen to Ambry Genetics lab. Find a FedEx drop-off location or call (800) 463-3339 to schedule a pickup.

  • For added convenience, community health centers are available to provide assistance with ordering a test kit including translation and email setup. If you prefer to pick up your testing kit at a community health center, register online and contact the participating community health center.
